BMW B46 oil filter housing failure. We are replaci BMW B46 oil filter housing failure. We are replacing it with a Upgraded aluminum housing with OE gaskets. We also replace the brittle plastic water outlet with aluminum. This specific car also had a leaking waterpump we replaced with a OE unit. Replacing the plastic oil filter housing on a BMW B46/48 or even B58 engines with an aluminum version is a highly recommended preventative maintenance step to avoid catastrophic engine failure.
