After the last event at Canadian tire motorsport park, RMP Competizione prepared for the races at Calabogie motorsport park Aug 19th to 21st.
On Friday, many RMP sponsored drivers tested for the weekend races.
Practice was first thing Saturday morning. In GT1, Rocco Marciello in the M235iR was fastest on track with lap times of 2:11 and in GT2 Pat Cyr and Daria Khachi both ran some quick lap times.
Qualifying was early afternoon. In GT1 Rocco Marciello ran at the top of the field and qualified 2nd out of the CASC Competitors and in GT2 Daria Khachi qualified 1st and Pat Cyr in 3rd.
Race 1 was late in the day on Saturday. Rocco placed 3rd in GT1 class, Pat Cyr 1st in GT2 and Daria 3rd in GT2.
Race 2 was early on Sunday morning. The race was very eventful, the weather changed during the race from warm sunny to rain at the midway point. Rocco finished 2nd in CASC GT1, Daria 1st and Pat in 2nd in GT2 all racing in the rain on slick tires.
Race 3 was the final race of the weekend and it was in the pouring rain. We setup the cars and changed tires for the conditions. Running some fast lap times in the rain we placed 2nd in CASC GT1 behind fellow competitor Blaise Csida. In GT2 Daria Khachi finished 1st with Pat Cyr not far behind.
After this weekend, RMP Competizione is leading the GT1 Championship.
In the GT2 championship, Pat Cyr is leading with team mate Daria Khachi in 2nd.
Our next race will be held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Sept 17-18. 2022, we are looking to further the leads in the CASC GT1 and GT2 championships!
As always, we would like to thank our sponsors Fuchs oil and Molyslip.
