Celebration of Motorsport 2018!

RMP Competizione had multiple entries for the final event of the season, Celebration of Motorsport at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

Starting testing on Friday, our drivers arrived and setup in the paddock.

Testing went well with some improvement to chassis and dampening settings, we were ready for the competition.IMG_5814[1]

With practice and qualifying early Saturday morning, Rocco Marciello qualified 1st in GT2 but broke out due to lap time being faster then the GT2 time bracket. Michael DelleDonne qualified 2nd in GT2, Daria Khachi 2nd in GT3 and John Dipchand 2nd in GT4.

Race one was in the afternoon, Rocco Marciello started in 21st due to breakout. Rocco caught up to 2nd in class behind team mate Michael DelleDonne, they battled for position till the end.  Michael DelleDonne finished 1st and Rocco in 2nd.
In GT4 John Dipchand finished 1st.

Sunday morning practice was a quick 10 minute session preparing for race 2 shortly afterwards. Both RMP BMW m235ir’s started in position 1 and 2. The race began, Rocco Marciello took the lead ahead of team mate Michael DelleDonne, chasing down the GT1 cars had caused him to break out once again, putting him in 18th position for the final race. In GT4 John Dipchand experienced a tire failure forcing him not to finish the race. GT4 class was won by an RMP chassis setup Honda Civic driven by Pauly Plewa and 2nd in class Ali Nasirpour in his RMP Mini.IMG_5822[1]

The final race of the season was early afternoon, with all RMP drivers on the grid, the race began. Rocco Marciello starting in last due to the breakout, he overtook each competitor one by one eventually passed team mate Michael DelleDonne for first position taking the checkered. In GT3 Daria Khachi placed 2nd in class and Johannes Tijiang in his RMP built and setup E46 M3 placed 3rd. In GT4 John Dipchand working his way through the field made it up to first in class, Ali Nasirpour finished 2nd and Pauly Plewa finished third.

This put all the RMP Competizione entry’s on the podium this weekend in multiple classes.IMG_5848
