The second event of the CASC Pirelli GT Sprint Championship was held at Shannonville Motorsport Park.
We were setup and ready for testing on Friday. All the RMP Competzione entry’s were very quick each session, fine tuned and prepared for the weekend races.
Saturday morning practice and qualifying went well. Rocco in the M235iR qualified 1st in GT1, Daria 1st in GT2 and Pat Cyr 3rd in GT2 in a pair of E46 M3’s.
Race 1 was early afternoon. Rocco with some tough battles placed 1st in GT1 and overall. Daria 2nd in GT2 and Pat Cyr fell back a couple positions after a incident with another driver caused him to pit and remove his broken rear bumper to continue the race.
We prepared the cars in the evening and were ready for the Sunday races.
Race 2 Rocco placed 2nd in GT1 to a good fellow competitor Mark Busscher. We made the wrong decision to use an old set of tires that did not hold up well causing us to fall back during the race. In GT2 Daria placed 2nd and Pat Cyr in 3rd.
Race 3 the final race of the weekend was Sunday afternoon. Rocco started in 2nd position battled hard with very consistent lap times. Passing for first place in GT1 early in the race and held position until the end. In GT2 Pat Cyr finished 2nd and Daria Khachi in 3rd.
Every RMP Competizione entry was on podium this weekend!
These results have is leading the Championship so far, and we are already preparing for the next event at CTMP in July.
We would like to thank our sponsors Fuchs Oil and ACL Race Bearings for the continued support.
