Starting off the weekend early with some testing on Friday, Rocco Marciello in the BMW M235iR dialed in the suspension improving his lap times. RMP Competizione drivers Johannes Tijiang and John Dipchand JR also tested for the weekend. Drivers Daria Khachi and Ali Nasirpour arrived late Friday to setup for the weekend events.
Saturday morning, a short practice session was held and then we qualified. The qualifying session was held in the rain. We quickly setup the cars for the wet. Rocco qualified 2nd in GT2, Daria 1st in GT3 and John 2nd in GT4.
The first race of the weekend was held Saturday afternoon in the rain. Rocco finished 2nd in GT2, Daria 2nd in GT3, John 1st in GT4 and Ali 3rd in GT4.
Race #2 was held on Sunday morning in dry weather. Rocco battled with a Nascar style truck from the start to the end of the race, keeping his lap times consistent, he was able to finish in 2nd. In the GT3 Johannes placed 3rd and GT4 John placed 1st with Ali right behind him in 2nd.
Early Sunday afternoon race 3 was held. Rocco started 2nd continuing the battle with the high horsepower Nascar style truck. Rocco pushed the car to every inch of its limit, but was unable to overtake for 1st position but still achieved the fastest lap time in the M235iR so far, a 127.4 and a 2nd place in GT2. GT3 class winner was Daria and in GT4 2nd place was Ali. RMP Competizione had multiple podium finishes this weekend in many classes, and we are proud of our drivers accomplishments.
We are already preparing for the next event, the Ted Powell Memorial held at Calabogie Motorsport Park, and we expect it to be a great one. We will be going into this event leading the GT2 Championship and plan to even further our lead!
We would like to thank our sponsors, Fuchs Oil, Moly Slip, and Pfaff BMW for the continued support.
