Returning to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the second last race weekend of the season, RMP Competizione was ready for the weekend events !
On Friday, we tested many BMW’s that we have setup and tuned.
In GT1 Rocco in the M235iR, in GT3 Johannes Tjiang in his E46 M3, Bruce Wylie in his E46 M3 and Demitria Chalkias in her E46 M3. With some minor adjustments throughout the day testing was going well, until we had another Turbo failure on the M235iR. This caused us to have to rush to the shop to replace the turbo and make our way back to the track for the upcoming races.
Saturday morning started well with some quick laps in warm up. In qualifying , Rocco Qualified 6th in GT1. Bruce 1st in GT3, Demi 2nd and Johannes in 5th.
Race 1 was held Saturday afternoon the race was very exciting and eventful. All the drivers finished well. Rocco 3rd in GT1, Demitria 2nd in Gt3, Johannes 4th and Bruce 7th.
Race 2 was held early Sunday morning. Rocco battled against many of the very high hp GT1 Trans Am tube chassis cars, holding on strong running consistent laps of 1:23-1:24 throughout the race finishing 4th. In GT3 Bruce placed 2nd, Demitria and Johannes broke out of the time bracket of GT3 with lap times of sub 1:30’s, disqualifying them from the race, causing them to start at the back of the grid for race 3.
Race 3 was Sunday afternoon. With some preparation between the races, we were ready to go. Continuing the battles from the previous race, Rocco battled it out with consistent lap times securing the 3rd spot on the podium in GT1 and overall. In the GT3 class the battle of the E46 M3’s continued until the end. Demitria finished in 2nd to a V8 Porsche 944, Johannes in 3rd and Bruce in 4th.
Overall the weekend was a great success. All RMP entry’s did well. All our entry’s finished fast , reliable and at the top of our class. This goes to show that proper preparation and upkeep will get you great results.
