Many RMP built, setup and sponsored BMW’s tested Friday before the weekend race events! Everything went well, and the weekend was off too a great start.
With some small tweaks to the cars Friday evening, we were ready for Saturday morning.
Practice and qualifying went well Saturday morning. Rocco Marciello in the M235ir qualifed well, 3rd in GT1. In GT3, Daria Khachi qualified 2nd, Bruce Wylie in 4th and Johannes Tjiang 5th all in RMP prepared E46 M3’s.
Race 1 was Saturday Afternoon, the race was extremely tough with many battles with the higher horsepower IMSA and Trans-Am cars. Rocco was able to finish 4th in class and overall. Daria, Johannes and Bruce finished 1st 2nd and 3rd in GT3 with some quick lap times.
Race 2 was on Sunday. The battling continued between the M235ir and the other GT1 cars, we fell back into 5th this race due to worn out tires. In GT3, Daria Khachi finished 2nd, Johannes 3rd and Bruce 5th.
The final race of the weekend was Sunday evening. The GT1 race was very eventful. Rocco pushed hard for positions, achieving his fastest lap time yet at Shannonville, as well he finished on the podium
in 3rd in GT1 and overall. In GT3 Daria Khachi finished 2nd, Johannes Tjiang 4th and Bruce Wylie in 5th. Bruce kept pushing hard to keep up with the competition and he had the fastest lap time of all GT3 competitors.
That wraped up our Shannonville Summer challenge. The next event will be held back at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on July 27-28th.
