RMP Competizione headed to Calabogie Motorsport Park for the next race weekend in the 2018 schedule, The Kyle Nash Memorial.
Arriving Friday evening to the track, RMP Competizione had setup our pits in the paddock for the weekend.
On Saturday the races were held on the Calabogie Short Track. With some setup changes after practice, RMP Competizione had the cars dialed in for the Qualifying session.
Qualifying went well, both drivers Rocco Marciello and Daria Khachi running RMP tuned and maintained BMW’s, placed in the top 3 positions for the first race.
The first race was held late Saturday evening. The battle for GT2 was between multiple BMW’S, Porsches and Nascar Trucks. With a long hard fought battle till the end, Rocco Marciello in the M235iR pushed passed the limit of the BMW causing a temperature overheat and limp mode activated. Rocco placed 4th in overall due to the power loss.
Races Two and Three were held on the Calabogie Long Track on Sunday . Rocco Marciello starting 4th for race 2, battling each lap catching up and finishing the race in 2nd.
The podium race of the weekend was held in rain. We had quickly switched the BMW’s over to rain setup. This race was very wet and slippery with conditions worsening throughout the race. Running a smooth and consistent race Rocco lead most of the race finishing 1st in GT2 and Daria finished 2nd in GT3.
The weekends accomplishments have now put Rocco and RMP Competizione in the lead of GT2 Championship.
Once again would like to thank all our sponsors, Fuchs OIL, MOLYSLIP, PFFAF BMW and Bully Clutch for all the continued support.
Please stay tuned for updates after each race weekend!
